APRIL 12, 1849

Commitment.  On Monday last, a young girl about 18 years of age, named Lucy Knauss, of Salisbury township, this county, was committed to jail, on the charge of having attempted to poison the family of Mr. Joseph Reinhard, of Upper Saucon.  As the matter will come up for trial at our next Court, we refrain from making any further remark of the case.

Married on the 8th instant, by the Rev. Schindel, Mr. Charles F. Young, to Miss Maria Deibert, both of Allentown.
Married on the 8th of April, by the Rev. S. K. Brobst, Mr. Paulus Knechel, to Miss Catharine Stoudt, both of Allentown.
Married on the 8th of April, by the Rev. Zeller, Mr. Peter Wickert, of Lower Macungy, to Miss Maria Ann Person, of Up. Milford.
Married on the same day, by the same, Mr. Abr. Steinberger, to Miss Elizabeth Kuhns, both of Upper Macungy.
Married on the 1st inst., by the Rev. Schultz, Mr. George E. Noser, of Wilkesbarre, to Miss Mary Schneider, of Salisburg.

Died on Saturday last, in Allentown, of Consumption, Charles John Gibons, son of John S. Gibons, aged 18 years and 19 days.
