According to authentic records, namely the testimony of Rev. Capt. John Steel, who visited this locality in April, 1768, the following persons were then resident at or near Turkeyfoot:

John Enslow
Henry Enslow
Benjamin Pursley
Some of these “trespassing settlers” doubtless lived within, the bounds of Addison township.
