Christ\’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, of Somerset township, was organized, in 1844, by Rev. Peter Rizer. A house of worship was built in 1845 at a cost of nine hundred dollars. It has since been repaired to the amount of twenty-two hundred dollars. The congregation is out of debt and numbers at this time one hundred and seventy; the sabbath-school scholars one hundred and forty.
