Hoffman Lutheran church, near Jenner Crossroads, was organized November 20, 1814, Rev. Ernst Heinrich Tiedemann, pastor. The original members were:

The first church was built in 1814 and cost seventy-five dollars. The present church, erected in 1871, cost thirty-five hundred dollars. The present membership of the church is sixty-seven, and of the sabbath school, seventy-seven. The congregation formerly belonged to Friedens charge. In 1879 a new charge was formed, embracing Stoystown, Horner and Hoffman congregations.
