Wesley Chapel Methodist Episcopal church, situated in the northern part of the township, was erected in 1863, at a cost of one thousand dollars.
The first ministers were Revs. Wilkinson and Williams.
The trustees were:
John Lanning
Messimer Cramer
John C. Phillippi
Norman Lichliter
David Lichliter
Jeremiah Pile
Joseph B. Critchfield
Classleader: David Lichliter
Membership about thirty- five.
