In the matter of the Estate of George R. Brady, dec’d.
In the Orphan’s Court of Indidan county; No 33, June term, 1874.
And now to-wit, June 17th, 1874, on motion of Stewart & Clark, the court appoints H.K. Sloan the auditor, to audit, settle, adjust and report distributions of the funds declared by the decree of the court to be in the hands o fJs. Brady and D. McCoy, administrators of the estate of George R. Brady, dec’d. Witness by hand and seal of the said Court this 17th day of June, 1874.

Clarion county boasts the champion old folks. In Farmington township, there is an old couple named Allen, the husband being 103 and the wife 102 years old. Sunday two weeks ago, the old lady walked six miles to church, and on Monday or Tuesday the old man was making hay in his field at home. – They both enjoy good health. – Clarion Democrat 1874
Death of James P. Carter
We are called upon to record the decease of James P. Carter, of this borough, which occured on Wednesday evening the 5th inst., at his residence. he was aged 52 years, 1 month, and 18 days. Mr. Carter remoed to this State from Kentucky in the year 1852, two years prior to which time he had married the second daughter of David Ralston, dec’d., who survives him. He was an enterprising and highly esteemed citizen, and was always found in the front rank of those who aimed at a higher morality and was a friend to all true reforms. His remains were interred in Oakland cemetery on Friday, and were followed to the grave by a large circle of mourning relatives and friends. “But man dieth, and wasteth away; yea, man giveth-up the ghost, and where is he?”
DIED
Kenning – In West Indiana, on the 7th inst, infant child of Isaac Kenning and wife.
Clark – In this borough, on the 9th inst., Mrs. Margaret Clark, 91 years.
Forrester – in Rayne twp., at the residence of Robert McKee, Mrs. Forrester aged about 50 years.
Ralston – In Elderton, Armstrong co., on the 10th inst., Jane, wife of John Ralston, Esq., aged 52 years.
Lydick – In East Mahoning, on the 11th inst., Mrs. Lydick, widow of the late James Lydick, Sr., and mother of Robert Lydick, of this place, aged about 80 years.
Wilson – On Friday, August 7th, 1874, of consumption, Mr. George Wilson, of this place, aged 45 years.
Deceased was a highly respected citizen, and during the long illness which terminated in his death, he bore himself with christian patience and fortitude.
Martin – In Cherryhill township, on the 3d inst., John Martin, aged 95 years.
Deceased came to this county from Ireland in 1801, and lived for sixty years on the farm on which he died. He was a member of the Presbyterian church for over seventy years.
Ansley – On the 5th inst., Minnie Pearl, daughter of Aaron and Anna J. Ansley, aged 8 months and 23 days.
A little casket hid from view,
Within the church yard lies;
The gem is safe in Jesus’ arms,
Resplendent in the skies.
Houston – In this Borough this (Wednesday) morning, Aug. 12, 1874, Mrs. Elizabeth Houston, wife of the late Wm. Houston, aged 81 years and 7 months.
The death of this aged mother will send a thrill of sadness into many hearts. Her labor of love, especially among the poor, was remarkable. With her own hand and from her own resources, she ministered to the wants of the needy and distressed. Well may her children rise up and call her blessed. “Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord from henceforth.”
The funeral will take place from the late residence of deceased, tomorrow, (Thursday) at 4 o’clock, p.m.
