The Meyersdale Roman Catholic church was built in 1849. There was no resident priest at the time. The original members of the church were:

The first stationed priest was Father Patrick Brown, succeeded by Father James Fitzgerald, Father James Brady and others. The present membership is about three hundred; pupils, about fifty.
