Centre Evangelical Lutheran church, situated in Elk Lick township, was organized May 17, 1849. The first officers and original members were:

The house of worship was completed in 1850. For list of pastors, see St. John’s church, Salisbury. The congregation has forty members and the sabbath school forty- five scholars.
