William L. Alcorn, Jr. of
West Sunbury
and formerly of Sigel, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998 at his home following an
illness. He was 58 years of age.
Mr. Alcorn was born on December 22, 1939 in
Jefferson
County
. He was the son of the late William L. and Olive Marie (Slike) Alcorn, Sr.
He was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church
in Brookville.
He was a retired math teacher at
North
Allegheny
High School
. He was also the swimming coach for 20 years. He was a graduate of
Clarion
University
and earned his Masters Degree at
Eastern
Michigan
University
.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. James (Mary) Abbott,
with whom he made his home; two sons, William K. Alcorn of Lemont and Michael P.
Alcorn of Cranberry; four grandchildren and one brother, John F. Alcorn of
Cranberry.
He was preceded in death by: one grandson and one sister.
A Mass of
Christian Burial was held on Friday, June 19, 1998 at the
Immaculate
Conception
Church
in Brookville. The burial was private. Arrangements were by the Young Funeral
home in West Sunbury.
