David Eugene Daugherty

David Eugene Daugherty, 72, Sheplar Road, Reynoldsville, died Saturday at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1938, in Brookville, a son of the late Thomas Harry and Elmo F. Barnett Daugherty Arthurs, and the step son of the late Charles Arthurs. On Sept. 22, 1962, he was married to Anne Averil Peace. She survives. They enjoyed square dancing together, and had won a competition at the PA State Farm Show in 1961.He retired in 1996, after 25 years as a snow plow operator for PennDOT. He plowed snow in Jefferson County for many years.
Since 1954 he was a devoted farm toy collector and had assembled a great assortment over the years. He also enjoyed collecting Cub Cadet Tractors and attending tractor shows throughout the U.S.
He was the president and a charter member of the IH Cub Cadet Chapter 34, a member of the IH Collector Club Chapters 16 & 17, of central Pa. He also was a charter and membership secretary of Past to Present Machinery Association.
Survivors include three children: Betsy J. (Lester) Peffer of Marchand, Michael D. Daugherty of Reynoldsville and Judith L. (Scott) Huey of Reynoldsville; a sister, Sue (Thomas) Algoe of Mayport; a stepbrother, Thomas (Josephine) Arthurs of DuBois; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

DAUGHERTY: David Eugene, Sheplar Road, Reynoldsville, died Oct. 2, 2010. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Brooks officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Windy Hill, Rose Township, Jefferson County.
