Hazel Virginia (Himes) Ripley

Hazel Virginia (Himes) Ripley, 64, died on Sunday, September 14, 2003, at a Virginia Beach, VA, Hospital.

She was born on July 18, 1939, in Knoxdale, the daughter of Charles and Ina Mae (Sisco) Himes.  She was married for 42 years to Harold A. Ripley, Ret. C. P. O., U. S. N.  He survives.

Mrs. Ripley was a resident of Virginia Beach for 35 years and she was a librarian assistant with Thalia Elementary School in Virginia Beach.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, arts and crafts and especially yard sales.

Surviving along with her husband is one daughter, Mrs. Shelby (Jill) Combs of Capeville, VA; one son, John Ripley of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, John Himes of Brookville; two grandchildren, Kendall and Tyler Combs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers:  Bobby and Keith Himes.
