In 1825 the family moved to Holmes Co., OH where the children grew to adulthood. In that county on 1 September 1836 he married Sarah Haley. She died in 1854 when her 7th child was a year old. Children: 1. Rebecca 2. Joseph 3. Elenette "Ella" N. 4. Elizabeth 5. Benjamin 6. James Haley 7. John S. His 2nd marriage was to Prudence Crisswell with whom he had a 2n family. John bought a farm in OH and again, when he moved the family to Caldwell Co., MO. He was praised for his farming and handling stock. He died in 1892 in MO. His father was said to be a native of Armstrong County, PA and his name might have been "John" also. There is a headstone in the family plot in Caldwell Co., MO marked "His wife, Bridget". Was this John's mother?

- BARR, MCCAMISH posted by Phyllis Roseberry on Thursday, September 18, 1997
- MCCAMISH BARR Robert MCCAMISH(born around 1760) came from Franklin County to Buffalo Township,Westmoreland County, now Armstrong County, around 1800. He was the son of "Old" William MCCAMISH from Welsh Run Village in Cumberland County, later Franklin County. Robert married Jane BARR in Armstrong County and they had at least one son William MCCAMISH born 1796. I think they may have had one son named Daniel MCCAMISH in 1802. This Daniel is my ancestor, and I do not know, for sure, if Robert MCCAMISH is his father or not. My ancestor Daniel MCCAMISH married Sarah BARR, who was a niece of Jane BARR. Therefore we have at least two connections to the BARR family, which I believe were neighbors of the MCCAMISH family in Buffalo Township. Any help with this matter will be deeply appreciated for my help must come from Armstrong County. Did Robert MCCAMISH and Jane BARR MCCAMISH have a son Daniel MCCAMISH in 1802?
