- KIRKPATRICK posted by Thomas Kirkpatrick on Monday, June 1, 1998
- Searching for any information on Barbara A. Kirkpatrick. She appears in the 1860 Census age 29 with husband D. Kirkpatrick age 32 there residence is indicated Rural Village, Armstrong County. She appears in the 1870 Census with Husband David or Daniel. Their residence in the 1870 Census is Wayne Twp. Armstrong County. The Children on the 1870 Census are Robert A. age 14, Barclay age 7, Johnathon age ?, Findley age 6 Months. Barclay's proper name is David Barkley Kirkpatrick (1863-1930). He is buried at Atwood Cemetery with his wife Anna Tessie Hoover (1886-1936), He is my greatgrandfather. The Beers history of Armstrong county states that a David Kirkpatrick owned a grist mill in Barnards (Armstrong County) in 1837 and that he sold the grist mill to George Barnard in 1845. I am researching for any links to this David Kirkpatrick and finally for any links to the Kirkpatricks buried in the Glade Run Cemetery (Armstrong County, Wayne twp.) The name David occurs quite frequently in the research that I have done so far. Middle names and initials help alot. I have had some success in establishing a beginning line from David Kirkpatrick buried at Glade Run Cemetery and Elizabeth Varns or Barns (1st Wife 1826-1844 Buried at Glade Run), Children William, James N.. Mary Thompson(2nd Wife Buried at Glade Run) Children John T., Moses, Robert B.,Simon, Martha, Mary Archibald Findley, Margaret Christian Good and Lydia C. I have not had any success in establishing a link to any of these Kirkpatricks buried at the Glade Run Cemetery.
