My grandfather,John Franklin Grose/Gross married a woman named Nellie Baxter or Sparrow at the time of their marriage in 1898. We think that the marriage took place in Armstrong county in Williamsburg, but have been unable to confirm this. Any information about either would be appreciated. He was using the spelling Grose at the time of the marriage.

With his wife Sarah and children: John b abt 1832, Francis b abt 1835 (May have been known as Frank), Elizabeth b abt 1837, Charles M. b 1841 d 1920, Samuel b abt 1845 (was a barber in Parker), James b abt 1848, and Robert F. b abt 1849. Charles M. m Sarah Jane Milsom and had children: James, Elizabeth (m Frank Anderson), Mary Ann, Frank Elmer, Sarah F., Agnes Milsom (m Fred Cargille), Irene Wilson (m E. Bender), Ada Rebecca (m Samuel D. Wyant), Hannah Hudson, Isabelle, Charles Jessop. Any connections?

Hello, I am in search of information regarding the Yanik family who resided in NuMine, in the late 1800's early 1900's. Joseph Yanik, Jr. m. Rose Perry. They had 9 Children: Carl b. 1933, Frank, Robert, Stanley, Richard, Victoria, Fred, and 2 infants. The infants are said to be buried in a NuMine Cemetary and Joseph Yanik, Sr and his wife Victoria Barbara are buried in Yatesboro. Any info regarding the Yanik family would be greatly appreciated. Seeking information about William McClain married to Margaret McGarvey. They are in the 1880 census Fairview Twp.Butler Co., Pa. Margaret's father and mother were Daniel and Margaret McGarvey. James McClain my great grandfather was born in Armstrong Co. in 1869. The other side is Lenning, Joseph and Susan Lenning. They are listed in the 1880 census with my great grandfather George Lenning siblings Jno, Anna, Lizzie and grandchildren Florence Sproal and Emma Sproal.

Searching for info on children of George and Hannah Edwards, listed in Cowanshannock Twp, South Division, Armstrong Co in 1900 Federal Census. (ED2, S5, L51). Specifically, I am trying to locate my grandmother's ancestors. Her name is Hannah Wolf, and a Hannah M. Wolf of the correct age is listed as Granddaughter and living with George in the census. I believe her mother's name was Esther, and she apparently died prior to 1900.

ISO any and all information on JOSEPH ARBUCKLE b. about 1755 d.1808 Mifflin, Allegheny Co.,PA and his descendants, especially wife's name (I have SARAH maiden name unknown b.about 1765 MD d. 1834 Guernsey Co.,OH, but don't believe she's mother to his children probably 2nd wife) and parents names.

Need any birthdates and locations.Joseph owned property in "Beavertown" and on "the waters of Slippery Rock." He was seen in Washington,Allegheny, and Beaver Counties pre 1808.In 1810 his youngest children were bound out to John Findley Esq.location unknown. His daughter Rebecca(sp)married Lt. John McMillen and they are both buried in Salem Cemetary. Daughter Margaret married Luke Sigman, son Alexander married Matilda Sigman. Samuel D.Sherman b.Kittanning, Pa. July 27, 1893, his fa. John H. Sherman, mo. Priscilla McDowell. The McDowells perhaps from this area also. Samuel married Mary Ellen Martin of Johnstown,Pa. Supposedly John and Priscilla buried All Saints Braddock, Braddock, Pa. No info at cemetary available. Plase contact me if anyone has any info at all.

Okay, since January of last year, I have gained a little data to help narrow the search. My father, Kenneth Melville, states his birthdate as Dec. 4, 1896 in Parkers Landing, Armstrong (? Shows Clarion in topozone), PA. There should be a WWI veterans memorial near there that has his name on it, though I believe it was spelled Burtt on the monument. My grandfather, David Andrew, married to Martha ?, lists his birthdate as June 27, 1875 in Greanoke, PA. I am ASSUMING this to be the Green Oak area of Armstrong Co. He lists his parents as John Burt and Rebecca Bovaird, which I estimate as born between 1840-1858. If anyone is familiar with this area, or the WWI monument, I would be most appreciative if you could enlighten me. Thank you. Ken Burt
