- John P. Painter was born about 1824 in PA. He was age 36 in the 1860 census, Armstrong Co, Valley Twp. He married Rebecca Neale. Later he was a judge in Armstrong County. He died about 1910. He had a nephew, John P. Painter, who died in the state of Indiana in 1915. Who were the parents of Judge John P. Painter and of his nephew, John P. Painter? I think Judge Painter may have been a brother of Sarah (Painter) Fiscus, who was born about 1822. She was the wife of James Brown Fiscus, of Kittanning Twp.

- COOK, FREW posted by Mike T on Monday, October 16, 2000
- I have a Frew / Cook connection. If you can tell me anything about these people, please respond.
Have three siblings; parents unknown
Edward Frew b. 1874 PA
William Frew b. 1878 IL
Viola M. Frew b. 1880 IL
It appears that the family was from PA and sometime between 1874 / 1878 they moved to IL. Viola married Harry Twigger in Ford City in 1902. So at least some of this family moved back to PA. Harry passed away in 1917. Viola then married a man whose last name was Cook. I don't know his first name. Edward and William were living with Harry and Viola in 1910.
Viola and Harry were my great grandparents. Unfortunately I know nothing about the "Frew" part of my family. If you can tell me anything about them, I couldn't thank you enough. Any information is appreciated; Nationality, Religion, etc.

- BOVAIRD, BURT posted by Ken Burt on Thursday, October 26, 2000
- I found a listing in the 1910 census for my fathers family. David Andrew Burt married to Martha C., children Kenneth Melville (my father) b. Dec. 4, 1896, Helen P. b. 1898/99 and Walter C. b. 1899/1900. It gives the Enumeration District as 0034 Visit 0185.
Is 0034 Parkers Landing (Parker)?
Is there any way to find Martha's last name?
David's ss application lists his parents as John Burt and Rebecca Bovaird. Both b. est. 1840-1858. It lists his place of birth as Greanoke, PA on June 27, 1875. I am still trying to locate his birthplace or any information on his parents.
My father showed us a monument to WWI veterans near his home town of Parker that had his name on it. Someone has said that there is a monument in Rimersburg that lists all veterans of all wars. This may be the monument my father showed us. Is there anyone that could confirm that Kenneth Melville Burt (Burtt may be on the monument) is on this monument?
