Mt. Tabor Cemetery Cemetery, Armstrong Co., PA EST. 1868 (Dry Ridge) This area which is named Dry Ridge, was originally the sight of the Dinger School in the early 1800's. In 1868 the first recorded interment was made at this locality, thus established the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The first church being Mt. Tabor Church was built in 1878 and stood near the main entrance to the cemetery. The Mt. Tabor Cemetery has stood the test of time and still continues to serve this area today. In 1996, through the efforts of the James R. Doverspike Family the cemetery was restored to its original beauty for all future generations. (Inscribed stone). (This cemetery is one of the most beautiful small cemeteries I have entered. It sits on a hilltop, looks across ridge after ridge of rolling hillsides, and has been given extremely unusual care. The Doverspike Family is to be commended for their interest and care. Linda M. Stitt, transcribed May 7, 2000).
