Hetrick Family Cemetery
Bedford County

A listing for my family cemetery located in South Woodbury Township. The last burial there was for my great aunt Elsie Hetrick in 1950. When the leaves are off the trees, you can see the cemetery from the Koontz Church of the Brethren, you look toward the mountain in the back of the church and the cemetery is on the side
of a hill.

My great uncle, Calvin Hetrick said there were 42 graves in the cemetery but didn't know the names of all of them. There are field stones that are worn completely smooth, Uncle Calvin and his sister Essie Hetrick Freeman were the last of the Hetricks to live on the homestead and it was sold 1971 and they moved to a retirement home in Martinsburg. They are buried in the Koontz Church Cemetery. My sister and I last visited the cemetery two years ago and some more of the stones had become impossible to read anymore.
