Obituary: Ida May Bannon, 86, formerly of Narvon R3, died Thursday after a
lengthy illness at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, where she had resided for the last
8 1/2 years.
Mrs. Bannon was a member of Nantmeal United Methodist Church.
Born in Nantmeal Township, Chester County, she was the daughter of the late
Jacob and Annie Thomas McAfee.
Her husband, Theodore K. Bannon, died in 1981.
Surviving are a son, Charles E., husband of Gladys Boley Bannon of East
Earl; three daughters, Edna M., wife of LeRoy Becker of Linfield, Mary A.Andrew
of Goodville and Emma May, wife of I. Eugene Shirk of Churchtown; 15
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a
sister, Mary Lockart of Elverson; and a brother, Walter McAfee of Spring City
R1.

Obituary: Ethel Benney Wiebush, 85, of Rahway, N.J., formerly of Lancaster,
died Friday of natural causes at her home in Rahway.
She was the wife of the late Melvin Wiebush.
She was born in Coatesville, but raised in Lancaster, daughter of the late
John Walter and Laura MacAffey Benney.
Mrs. Wiebush graduated from the former Girls' High School and a secretarial
school in Lancaster. She met her husband while he was a student at Franklin
& Marshall College. She left Lancaster in the 1930s, but returned to visit
many times over the years. Surviving are two sons, Melvin Jr. of Rahway, and
Rick of Baltimore; two daughters, Joan Roche of New Providence, N.J., and Peg
Shannon of Baltimore;
six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
