- SPATZ, SPOTTS, WOOD, WOODS posted by Leah Waring on Friday, September 24, 1999
- I am looking for information on John WOOD /WOODS who was in Center Co Pa in the late 1700's and early 1800's. He was married to Mary Hannah SPOTTS / SPATZ. According to the obit for Mary Hanna they had 6 sons and 2 daughters, John, James, Lebbeus, William, Hiram, Mary Ellen, David Daniel and one daughter whose name is unknown to me. Son David Daniel Woods was b. April 1830. I believe John possibly died in the late 1830's as I haven't found him on a 1840 census record. Mary Hannah was born Oct 1789, in Houserville Center Co Pa., d. Oct 1890, in Clearfield Co Pa. She was living with her son David at the time of her death. She died 2 weeks from her 102 birthday. Mary Hannah was of Indian ancestry from Chief Bald Eagle's tribe whose base camp was in the Milesberg Center Co Pa area. John had a brother Wilson Woods who moved to Clearfield Co Pa, after his marriage to Christina Spotts, (half sister to Mary Hannah) and they lived in the New Washington area. I have been told that John possibly came from Ireland through England. I have found no evidence of this.

- DAVIS, GOSS, KEPHART posted by Carolann Smith on Wednesday, September 29, 1999
- Searching for listing of cemeteries in Clearfield County? Especially interested in the following: Janesville(Gulich Township), Houtzdale (Woodward Township), Osecola Mills (Decatur Township), Ramey, Ginter, Madera, & Brisbin. I know there is a Goss Cemetery in Decatur Township that also lists lots of Kepharts. The Davis families from Decatur Township were surrounded by Kepharts and married some. Hoping to find information from grave markers that tie any of these families together. Has anyone done a listing of entire cemetery that could be posted to Aldrich Site under Clearfield County? Some counties on the Aldrich site have cemeteries listed, row by row with grave marker information, as well as church cemeteries. Does anyone know if anyone is working on information for the Aldrich Project for these smaller areas? Is there a central database or address that would have a complete listing of cemeteries in Clearfield County, including Church cemeteries? I know there are s! everal in Brisin, Houtzdale, Osceola Mills and Ramey. Any information on how to find these would be appreciated. .
