time in town Tuesday last.

     A. C. Hidlay returned from New York

on Wednesday, bringing with him a fine

sorrel mare.

Any one wishing to see a fine lost of hogs,

five in number, should stop at John Eck-

roth's, as he can show what corn and oats

will do for pork.

     A. C. boasts on mill pick sharpening.

Give him a trial.

     R. M. Johnson boast on the Jumpkin

line. Beats any one in town.

Among the numerous visitors last week

we noticed Mrs. U. H. Ent and Mrs.

     C. M. Vanderslice and wife came on

Sunday to see Mrs. McDowell, who still

suffers the affliction of earth.

Our boys and the Millville boys did not

play the decision game on Saturday last on

account of the rain.

the Fall crops.

Quite an excitement in town Saturday

night, caused by a liveryman from a cer-

tain town. The said liveryman having

hired his rig to three young men to drive

to Lightstreet to see their ladies, expected

that they would likely do more driving

than they should, concluded to follow

them. He overtook them at the lower end

of town and captured the rig. The boys

were left. Better go a foot, boys, and then

you can go home when you please.

No sowing has been done as yet that we

know of.
