Eugene F. Throop in his book Forest County, Pennsylvania Cemetery Inscriptions mentions this cemetery as follows:
about two miles north of Balltown of there was the town of Minister and across from the town's church were three or four infant burials. Both the cemetery and church are gone without a trace now. Both Balltown and Minister were thriving oil-boom towns of the 1880's and 1890's.
According to the United Methodist Church records there was a church in the village of Minister that was on the Sheffield Charge. The property was sold in 1928.
