- My great grandmother was Mary Rebecca St. John who was in the 1850 census of Warsaw TNS, Jefferson Co. I have extensive genealogy info on the St. Johns dating back to 1604 in England. She married my great grandfather, Joseph S(c)hultz on or about July 27, 1856. There first son, John was born May 6, 1857. I am interested in finding the roots of Joseph. Thanks in advance for any help.

- Hello, I'm looking for information on Christian HOOVER, b.? - d. ?. Christian's first wife was Caroline KINNARD, b. ca. 1830. They had four children:
1. Reuben, b. ca. 1854 (Jefferson Co.) - d. before 1900, mar. Emma COLEBURN
2. Samuel Thomas, b. Feb 18 1857 (Jefferson Co.) - d. Aug 18 1930, mar. Victoria WALKER, b. Sept 9 1858 - d. Feb 12 1938
3. George, b. Apr 1865 (Jefferson Co.), mar. Anna MEADE
4. Simon Edward, b. March 1 1864 (Jefferson Co.), mar. 1902, WV Ida Christine WATSON
In the 1860 Census, Caroline, Reuben and Samuel were living with Catharine HOOVER on a farm in Henderson Twp., Jeff. Co., PA. By 1880, Reuben and Emma were living in Karthas Township, Clearfield County, PA. Samuel and Victoria were living in Burnside Township, Centre County, PA.
His second wife was Mary CONAWAY. They had 1 child:
1. Edith, b.?
According to a Jefferson County history, there was a Christian Hoover elected as a school director in Henderson Township in 1857. There was also a Christian Hoover conscripted into the Union Army in 1861-1862 from Gaskill Township.

- I am seeking info on g grandfather, Curtis Elmer Smith, son of Emanuel Smith and Sarah Matter/Motter according to PA. birth certificate April 8, 1868.
The 1870 Beaver Township, Parker, Fed Census shows Emanuel 21 with wife Sarah 21 and children.
The problem is an "Edward" is listed in the birth slot my Curtis Elmer should be in. Interested in hearing from those reseaching Smiths in Jefferson. Curtis later married Hattie Edith Wilson, daughter of John Christ Wilson of Jefferson.
Other children on the census are Emma, Edward and William.

- I am seeking information on my gr-gr-grandfather, Dr. Cyrus C. Moore. Cyrus was born on September 14, 1823 in/near Deckertown, NJ., was raised in Morristown, Somerset Co. at the age of 17 he went to PA. to study medicine. He recieved his degree in medicine from the Jefferson College. He then married a young lady from Philidalphia by the name of Catherine Bower. She was the daughter of George Bower. She and Cyrus lived in Philidalphia where he ran a Drug Store and practiced medicine.
Question: Is the Jefferson College located in Jefferson Co.? How and where would I go to find the dates Cyrus attended this college and the date of his graduation. All of this information could possibly help find the names of his parents. Thank you.
