Burkett Hollow United Methodist Church
The first services of the Evangelical Church were held in 1880 in the Burkett Hollow school house. In 1884 the
former Presbyterian Church building was moved from Oliveburg to it's
current location on land donated by Samuel Burkett. The Church
closed in November 2005.

Markton United Methodist Church
The Markton United Methodist Church was a former Evangelical United
Bretheran Congregation. The church was organized in 1923 by
Reverend Budd R. Smith. The building was built in the fall of 1923
on ground donated by Melvin Burkett. The church was closed in
1964. The building was sold and torn down in 1966. The
first picture to the right was taken as the building was being torn
down. The second picture below is a painting of the church.

Ebeneezer Church
According to the History of Jefferson County by Kate Scott,
Ebeneezer Church was a church of the Evangelical Association.
On December 31 1862; William and Sarah Bush of Oliver Township,
deeded 139 perches of land for $8.00 to the Trustees of the
Evangelical Association.
The church building was sold in 1974 and torn down.
