Reigart Family

This handwritten information (consisting of 5 pages) was written in
1894 by Major Henry Reigart Breneman. Sometimes the letters are not
clear in which case I will put a (?) after the word.

PEDIGREE OF THE REICHART, NOW REIGART FAMILY OF LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
The maternal ancestors on Henry Reigart Breneman's side copied from the Parish Church Register of Schwegenhein Bavaria in 1851 by consent of the authorities.
ULRICH REICHART born in Schwegenhein March 1695, emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1738 then a colony under England. The following is copied from an old family bible belonging to Adam(?) Reichart Sr. the great great grandfather.

Ulrich Reichart married Anna Maria Merkel(?) daughter of Abraham Merkel citizen and weaving master. Her mothers name was Margaret. Anna Maria was born in March 1701 in Schwegenhein in Churpfaltz Electorate of the Palatinate in Rheinish Bavaria 2 hours from Speyre on the Phine. Her father died in her 12th year. 1713 she took Communion and was received into the church. Married Ulrich Reichart in her 21st year. They had 9 children, 4 boys and 5 girls. She emigrated to this country in 1738. Ulrich Reichart died March 15th, 1776, aged 71 years. Anna Maria Reichart, his wife, died October 30th 1768, aged 67 years, 7 mos.

ADAM REICHART second son was married April 07, 1765 to Catherine _ieser (can't read first letter) by the Rev. T. Barton of the Parish of St. James, Lancaster Co., Pa.

John, b. February 03, 1764, baptized Feb. 5th.
Adam, b. June 17, 1765, baptized June 19th.
Anna Maria, b. July 06, 1767, baptized July 13th.
Emanuel, b. July 26, 1769, baptized July 30th.
Elizabeth, b. September 08, 1771, baptized September 15th.
Thomas, b. 1774
Catharine, b. February 12, 1779, baptized February 17th.
Catharine, wife of Adam died May 10, 1789, aged 57 years, 11 months.
Adam Reichart married a second wife, Susannah Franks on January 07, 1794 and died July 17, 1813. They had no children.

ADAM RIECHART, son of Adam and Catharine was born June 17, 1765 married Mary Wager (Weger?) daughter of Philip Wager (Weger?) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania May 10, 1791 They had the following children:

Anna, b. July 04, 1795
Henrietta, b. November 18, 1796
Susannah, b. March 13, 1798
Philip Wager, b. July 04, 1799
Margaret, b. March 21, 1801
Sarah Eliza, b. October 03, 1802
Susan, b. April 04, 1804
Adam Reichart died May 01, 1844
Mary Reichart died January 01, 1806

Mary Catherine Reigart (sic) married John R. Montgomery of Lancaster.
Anna Reigart (sic) married George Hopkins, Esq. of this City.
Henrietta Reichart (sic) married Emanuel C.(?) Reigart (sic) of this City, Lancaster, Pa.
Philip Wager Reichart married Elizabeth Jenkens of Windsor Forge, Lancaster Co., Pa. (Daughter of Robert and Catherine Carmichael Jenkins) (this last was added at at later time)
Margaret Reichard married Henry M,(?) Slaymaker of _ar_aretta Furnace, York County.
The above are all deceased and lie in the lot of the late Emanuel C. Reigart in Woodward Hill Cemetery.
Adam Reichart, the son of Adam and Catharine Reichart was born June 17, 1765, he was the son of Adam Reichart who was the 2nd son of Ulrich and Maria Reichart who emigrated to this country in 1738 from Swegenhein, Bavaria 2 hours from Spreyre.
HENRY C.(?) REIGART was the son of Emanuel Reichart, a son of Adam Reichart and his wife Catharine _eiser. His progenator was Adam Reichart whose father was Ulrich. The wife of the above Emanuel Reichart was Susan Musser.
Emanuel Reichart had two sons Henry M. and emanuel C. and a daughter Fannie who married Henry Miller of Lampetre Square, Lancaster Co.
Henry M. Reigart of the above family had 9 children: Christian, Adam, Emanuel, John, Henry, Susan, Maria, Anne, and Catharine.
Christian R - lives in Hamilton, Ohio? and has 2 children Henry and a daughter Catharine
John R - married Catharin Spree-er(?) 3 children - Elizabeth, Anna and Henry.
Maria R - married Dr(?) William Fah_est___
Anna Reigart married Dr(?) Abram Breneman of Lancaster, Pa. Children:
Henry R., Anna Elizabeth, Emeline, John S. and Abram Adam, a Chemist of New York City.
Elizabeth married Frank L. Calder (this was added later)
Henry Reigart (Breneman), this was added later) married Eleanore Welden Breneman, daughter of Abram Neff Breneman of Lancaster County. Pa.
Added later was (parents of Miss Caroline S. Breneman)
Ulrich Reichart - who emigrated to this country 1738 is the ancestor of this family of the Reigart side of the house from whom the mother of Henry Reigart Breneman is descended.
Anna Reigart daughter of Henry _(?) Reigart of this City This last is added at a later date: (born October 10, 1820, died Oct 21, 1887? married Abraham Brenemen, Jr, son of Abraham Brenemen, Sr. children as above. These wer the paternal grandparents of Miss Caroline S. Breneman)
