SHORT. I am searching for information on Bernard Short. He was married to Elizabeth Agnes BYRNE about 1859. He enlisted to serve in the Civil War in 1861 at age 27. He was born in Ireland. He and Elizabeth had 13 children. According to his daughter Emma Jane (my mother's grandmother) he had a very large tobacco plantation in Lancaster. I am looking for proof of that claim. BOFINGER/BUFFINGER My ggg grandfather Benjamin Bofinger was born 1800 Wurtemburg and came to Lancaster Co as a child with his parents. Benjamin married Margaret Hahlens and had 2 children, John and Carrie born in the 1820's. Several subsequent children were born in Ohio. Benjamin's mother, thought to be widow of George, appears in 1850 fed census in Manor twp. This family may have married into families named NEFF, BLOCHER, KAUFMAN and HOGENDOUBLER. Benjamin d Cincinnati in 1860. His obit asks Harrisburg and Buffalo (NY) papers to copy. Would appreciate any leads.

I' am searching for my grandfather: Ralph Ersel Patterson Sr. b. 1905/06. m.1928/30, d.Oct 11,1957. He was born and raised and passed away in Lancaster,Pa. He had at least 3 other sisters and brothers. I only knwo of Warren Patterson, Thelma or Helen Patterson. Warren married Annabel and Thelma/Helen married a McCombs, his name was Clearence, nick-name Gookie. Ralph E Patterson Sr was married to the former Mary Pugliese. She was b. Mar 7, 1908, d.Oct 11,1983, I know about her, they had 3 children, all living in California now. Martin E Patterson, Ralph E Patterson Jr and Terence E Patterson. I'm also searching fro Ralph's Sr. Father Martin Patterson, he married a lady name Louisa/Helen Hartsough. Looking for information on Abraham Barr (1771-1848) married Betsy Brenecy Howery. His son, also Abraham Barr, came to Tippecanoe County, Indiana about 1830. The line lived in Lancaster County, especially. Bart Township, and I think Abraham (1771-1848) remained there. clawsonS@purdue.edu

From: Kenneth A. ThompsonI have been looking for NANCY ANN CHAMBERS for about ten years with out success. Perhaps I have been looking in the wrong county (Cumberland). Can you research any records in Lancaster that may provide me with any data which will allow me to continue my quest for information.
Nancy was first married to an ARMSTRONG and had two children, Robert and Jane. She next married JOHN BERTHIER THOMPSON and had a son JOHN JR. He was born 06 Oct 1758.
I have a family note that they came from Cumberland Co. so have done all my looking in that Co. up till now. Nancy is reported to come from Col. Chambers of Chambersburg fame.(unproven) John was reported to have lived in or around Hopewell twnshp. Also to have operated a mill near "Big Spring". John is reported to have come to this country with his father who was reported to have been a Rev. William (Thomson) Thompson, he may also have had two other children, James and Jenny.
I am also interested in learning about another woman whom I cannot locate. She is JANE McCORD, married John Jr. about 1797 but was first married to MARGARET HANNH.

SHUMACHER, SHOEMAKER...need info on Jacob Shumacher born sep 1731 Kriegsheim, Germany. Died 17 May 1764 Lancaster, Lancaster, PA. Probably burried in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Lancaster. Had a son named John Henry Shoemaker (spelling changed with this man). Any information on this line of Shumacher or Shoemakers.
