- I too am searching for a Lancaster Evans, with the same frustrating results! Mine is Moses Evans, b unknown, but his son Benjamin Franklin Evans was born in Lancaster in 1853. I know they were coal miners from stories my grandfather told us. What age is your Caleb and Benjamin on the census data? Moses and Caleb are such biblical names, it makes me wonder if there is any connection between our Evans?? Let me know directly by e-mail if you have the dates and I'll look in my past notes for your names.

- ADAMS, DIXON posted by Budd Adams on Sunday, September 3, 2000
- I'm looking for any data related to George Adams, his wife Katherine Dixon Adams, his children: William, Ann, Sarah, and Jane. George and Katherine first appear at their marriage at the 1st Presb. Ch. Philadelphia 15 Mar 1727. William was born 15 Sep 1734 somewhere in Chester County. George wrote his will 1 May 1747 in Caernarvon Township. George Martin and Jacob Morgan were witnesses. George Adams and Jacob Morgan were members of the Bangor Episcopal Church in Caernarvon Township in 1748. George died in 1751. Questions are: Where/who did George and Katherine come from? What happened to Katherine and her daughters after George died? Quaker records show that William married George Martin's youngest sister in 1754 and that the 19 year-old couple went to Hopewell MM,VA, then Southside MM (now Lynchburg, VA) and then to the Cane Creek MM in NC.
