- ADAMS, DIXON posted by Budd Adams on Tuesday, October 10, 2000
- I am asking if there was any court house mishap/fire/etc. that could account for missing land records between 1734 and 1754? I have searched about as well as any amateur could for the Land records of George Adams who died in 1751 and came to Caernarvon Tsp. after 1734. I have tried all the indices, sheriff's files, Orphans Court, etc. to no avail. I have also searched Berks County records since I do not know whether his land was in Lancaster or Berks after 1752. Same result and I have included dates well after 1800 in my searches incase the land was just passed on and not recorded. I have also looked at the Warrant maps for both Caernarvons, which have a load of data, but did not find him. Yes I'm sure he had land because he left it in his will to his wife--life tenancy--and split up among 4 kids after her death Any thoughts or revelations would be gratefully appreciated.
