The last will and testament of John Wise of Upper Mount Bethel Township in the county of Northampton and state of Pennsylvania. I, John Wise, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, Blessed be Almighty God, for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, first, I give and Bequeath unto my beloved wife, Susannah Wise, all my real estate and all my household goods and furniture and all of my personal estate, goods, and chattels of what kind so ever, during her natural life and after the death of my wife Susannah Wise, my will is that my executors sell all my real and personal estate, goods and chattels and divide among my children, Sally Ann Wise, wife of Adonijah Drake, one hundred and twenty five dollars, Permilia Wise, wife of Nathan Hendrick, one hundred and twenty dollars, Mahala Wise, wife of John Ridgway One hundred and twenty dollars, Christeen Wise wife of William Tranger eighty dollars, Janet Wise wife of Benjamin Strunk sixty dollars. The above sum is what I have given to my daughters and my will and meaning is that the several sums to be deducted out of their respective shares, and my will is that all of my children, Reuben Wise, Charles Wise, Jesse Wise, Macagy Wise, David Wise, George Wise and all my daughters above named to share and share alike. David Wise has had forty dollars which is to be deducted from his share and divided among the rest of my children and my son, Macagy Wise, is to have the use of his share during his life but if he should die and having no home then his share to be collected by my executor and equally divided among the rest of my children. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter, Rosette Wise, wife of William Haughawout, twenty five dollars, and to my grand son, William Wise forty dollars, my will is that the land whereon my son David Wise lives in Wayne County to be sold by my executor immediately after my death, and I also give and bequeth to my grand daughter Julia Stutts twenty five dollars and I do herby make and order my sons Reuben Wise and George Wise executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former will by me made witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty fifth day of February in the year of our lord one thusand eight hundred and sixty two.John WiseSigned, sealed published and declared by the above named John Wise to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto the twenty fifth day of February A D 1862.
