Mr. Editor:

Yesterday our boys made a charge on the enemy's works within a short distance of Petersburg.  I send you a complete list of the wounded in the 105th; other regiments I have not been able to hear from:

Major L. B. Duff, right leg amputated
Captain John C. Conser, Co. H, right thigh, ball lodged
John McCane, Co. F, scalp severe
Wm. Nipple, Co. C, back mortal
Allabrand, Hardman., Co. A, face slight
William Hegle, Co. A, leg
Miller Preston, Co. B, left side mortal
Irwin Robinson, Co. F, left thigh severe
Wm. Prescott, Co. E, through the eyes
Andrew Christie, Co. D, whom I mentioned in my former list as wounded, since died

The rest of the boys are well.  Col. Craig has just returned to the regiment, and looks very well.  We are sending all of the wounded to Washington to-day.

Yours in haste,

J. C. Truesdale
