215th Regiment

Pennsylvania Volunteers

This regiment was recruited in the city of Philadelphia, and in the counties of Lancaster, Bucks, and Northampton, and was organized on the 21st of April, 1865, at Camp Cadwalader, with the following field officers:

  • Francis Wister, Colonel;
  • Francis B. Jones, Lieutenant Colonel;
  • Andrew T.Goodman, Major.

Soon after its organization, it was ordered to duty at Dover, Delaware, and was posted in detachments in various parts of this State, and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Early in June, it was concentrated at Fort Delaware, where it guarded rebel prisoners, and performed garrison duty at the Fort. It was mustered out of service on the 31st of July.

Lost 11 by disease.
