Enrolled June 20, 1861 at age 21 in Philadelphia; mustered in as Corporal, July 20, 1862; promoted to 1st Lieutenant, February 2, 1863; promoted to Captain.August 5, 1863; absent on detached duty as Judge Advocate of Court Martial at Washington, D. C. starting June 24, 1863 per Special Order No. 149. Headquarters, Department of War. Mustered out July 18, 1865 at Washington, D. C. 

Other Information: Member of GAR Post # 91 (Abraham Lincoln) in Chicago, IL died January 26, 1905.
