- I am responding the the query about HESSEL GESSEL Hessel Gessel was a (German) guy who mined sandstone in the Asaph area.He mined sandstone to make grinding wheels out of it.He died unknown cause or place, and the quarry is known as Hessel Gessel now.There is rumors about the place being haunted.Never been there myself but will be going soon
