EZRA E. DUNMIRE, 79, of Avonmore RD 1 (South Bend Twp), died
Sunday Dec. 28, 1980 in Indiana Hospital. A son of William J. and Etta
Lindsey Dunmire, he was born March 3, 1901, in Conemaugh Township,
Indiana County
Mr. Dunmire was a member of the St. Jacob's United Church of Christ,
South Bend. He had celebrated his 53 wedding anniversary on Oct. 14,
1977.
Mr .Dunmire was a farmer, and was also employed as a school bus driver
for 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret C. Smith Dunmire; a daughter, Helen
Schrecongost, Elderton; two sons: James W. Dunmire, Apollo RD 1, and
David E. Dunmire, Avonmore RD 1 ~ nine grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in
death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Tuesday in the Clark Funeral Home, Elderton. Visitation will also be held
in St. Jacob's Church, South Bend, Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. until
the hour of the services. The Rev. Harrison Davidson will officiate, and
interment will follow in the Elders Ridge Cemetery.
She leaves her husband (William Jackson Dunmire) and five children:
Lawrence Dunmire, Ezra Dunmire, May, Lola and Billie. Also four
brothers: Mr. J. A. Lindsay, Maysville, Mr. C.B. Lindsay, Jacksonville,
Florida, William and Frank, both of Venango County, and three sisters,
Mrs. Martha Harris of Indiana County, Mrs. Laura Hazlett of Philadephia,
and Mrs. lzara Connelly of New York.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday morning at the late residence of her pastor, the Rev. J.I. Lauffer. Interment was made in the Elders Ridge Cemetery.
WILLIAM J. DUNMIRE, 65, Avonmore RD 1 (South Bend) died at Latrobe Hospital on Friday, Nov. 13, 1970. Born Feb. 5, 1905, in South Bend Twp, Armstrong County, he was the son of William J. and Etta Lindsey Dunmire.
Surviving are two brothers and a sister: Ezra Dunmire, South Bend,
Lawrence Dunmire, Clearwater , Florida, and Mrs. Lulu Dias, Indiana
County.
Friends are being received at the Bodenhom and Shaffer Funeral Home, 310
South Second St., Apollo, today from 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.
until time of service at 3p.m. with the Rev. John Kautz officiating.
Interment will be in the Elders Ridge Cemetery.
LAWRENCE S. DUNMlRE, 78, 150 Silk Oak Lodge, Clearwater,
Florida, formerly of the Apollo area, died Saturday, Sept. 30, at 6:05 p.m.
in Morton F. Plank Hospital Clearwater. He was born Oct. 1,1899, in
Nowrytown, to William and Etta Lindsey Dunmire.
He retired as a transportation manager of New Kensington in 1965. He also
was mill superintendent of shipping in the old Apollo Steel Mill.
He was a life member of Apolo Elks No.386, a member of Apollo United
Church of Christ, the Junior Order, and United Order of Machinists,
Kittanning Council No.238.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Simpson Dunmire, two daughters, Mrs.
Martin (Esther) Kinavey, Munhall and Mrs. Edgar (ValJean) Claypoole,
Forks Church; one son, Richard L. Dunmire, Mount Clemens, Michigan;
ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ezra
Dunmire, South Bend Township.
One daughter, Edna Devilling, died in Feb 1967, and a stepson, William
Haggey died Oct. 1961.
Friends will be received at Bodenhom and Shaffer Funeral Home, 310
South Second St., Apollo, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on
Thursday from 10 a.m. to the time of service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,
with the Rev. Elmer Reamer, pastor of Apollo First Methodist Church in
charge. Burial will follow in Elders Ridge Cemetery, Elders Ridge.
WILLIAM JACKSON DUNMlRE, 85, husband of Mrs. Etta Dunmire, and the last member
of his immediate family, died at
9:00 p.m., Friday in the home of
his son, Ezra Dunmire, South
Bend. Services will be conducted
in the son's home at 2:00 p.m.
Monday. Interment will be in the
Riverview Cemetery , Elders
Ridge.
MRS. ETTA DUNMIRE of near South Bend, died after several months of
illness on Sunday morning, Oct. 14, 1917, aged 47 years and eight months.
