The Foster sexton said this cemetery was cared for by the Foster Cemetery Association until labor rates became too high and they were unable to care for both adequately. At that time this cemetery was abandoned and is now grown over with poison ivy and the stones are mostly off base or in rubble; many have disappeared.

This is the end of the little book containing the records. The caretaker of the Foster Cemetery at Lander (formerly Farmington) told me that this cemetery was cared for until expenses for mowing became too high for the income of the cemetery. It was then abandoned and is today, 1965, a mess of poison ivy, broken stones--many thrown out in rubble at one side. The Northrop lot contains the body of Gideon Northrop, a soldier of the Revolution. Other lots contain soldiers of the Civil War era. Noah Chapel, also of the Revolution, was buried here.
