Biography

William Hughes settled in Derry Township in 1769 where he died in 1835. With his wife Elizabeth Dawson they raised a family of seven children: Isaac (reported to be the first white child born in Derry Twp.) William, Joseph, Rachel m. Andrew Christie of Butler county, Pa, Mary married James Sloan of Armstrong county,Agnes married William Sloan of Armstrong county, Priscilla married John Christie and they moved to Jefferson co. Pa.
