- Looking for information regarding an incident that may have been know as the Murrysville Riot. In a poem written by my ggrandfather William Porter LONG, he writes of being arrested for an incident that may have occurred on February 15, 1884. He says that on the 5th of May 1884, Joseph WIBLE(who we know know to be his father-in-law) paid his bail and he was released from jail. The last stanza of the poem indicates that he went to trial in 1890 and was found innocent. The poem mostly proclaims his innocence and his love for his family, but never mentions what he was arrested for. He signs the poem, W.B. LONG, Murrysville Riot. I've been trying for about 3 years to find out more but to no avail. Any information and clues would be appreciated.
