- GOODLIN, MUNSHOWER, PITTMAN, STAKE posted by Margaret Ann Goodlin on Friday, April 2, 1999
- I have been searching for the parents of a John Goodlin. I have some corrections to make to my last statement on John. It was NOT John Goodlin would left his wife and Child moving out West, starting a lumber/logging company. It was John's father, his first name might of be Charles, but not sure. After John's father left, his mother died shortly after, John was raised by her parents or a sister or a brother. Now I'm not sure if Goodlin was his fathers surname or his mother. If his mothers family adopted him that may of been their surname. John Goodlin may have been born abt. 1850-1870. He married Jennie Stake abt. 1890 they had four children Harry Danzel Goodlin b.1891; Cora Goodlin b.? m. ? Fycok; Blair Goodlin b.? m.? Thomas; Ruth Goodlin b.? m. ? Devinn. Any information would be a great help..

- Has anyone come across a John Philip HORNISH (1823-) living with their family on the 1840 census near/in Greensburgh? The farm is about 15 miles from where he grew up in Greensburgh. When his father died, he went to live on a farm with an aunt/uncle for about 7 years. Also on the farm were a granddaughter and a son (~1820-). His parents are John Breneman HORNISH (1789-1832) and Hannah KUHNS (1796-) d/o Philip KUNTZ, both born in Westmoreland County. I *think* the uncle was the blood relation rather than the aunt, but I don't know if he/she is a HORNISH or a KUNTZ. .
