- Researching the BUTZ family that emigrated from Prussia in the 1840's to WESTMORELAND COUNTY. The 1850 Census shows 5 boys living in Unity Township with a Francis Butz (63). The boys names are Petter, b ca 1832; Henry, b ca 1835;William, b ca 1838; Simon, b 1839; and Joseph, b ca 1843. Several of the boys and their families lived in places such as Crab Tree, Kuhns District, Youngstown District, and Latrobe into the early 1900's. Notice the name change. I realize that the county was Westmoreland and now is Fayette, but I believe it was Westmoreland when straugh was there. Also I am looking for the family of James Carson. - Searching for Inez and Elizabeth (Smith) Lavely and son Isaac, who married Rebecca Anthony. The family presumably lived in Westmoreland Co. prior to 1840. Isaac was born on July 9, 1821 in Westmoreland Co. and I believe Inez and Elizabeth to be the names of his parents. He was a schoolteacher, who later moved to the New Bethlehem, PA area. - Hello, The BROWN family I am researching begins in Fairfield Twp., Westmoreland County. His name was Mathew Brown(e) born 1775 in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and died 1832 in Fairfield Twp. The "e" at the end of the name was dropped in America, not sure why yet. He had two brothers that I know of, John, lived in Ligonier valley and never married; James, married Elizabeth Lyons and possibly moved to Mercer County; David, married Esther Mcreary lived in Salem Twp., Westmoreland County. Mathew's father may have been Andrew, but cannot confirm that yet. I have not found any link to this point with your James and Nancy Brown of Ligonier. - Mathew Graham, Sr. died enroute to his home in McKeesport, Allegh. Co., PA in 1780s. His burial site has never been located. Mathew Graham Sr. is the father of Mathew Graham Jr. and William Graham from the Cranberry Twp., Butler Co., PA area. Mathew also went by the name of Grimes in his Rev. Tioga County historical books states John was from the Philadelphia area, was a shoemaker, was in the War of 1812. He died in 1869 at the age of 78, Tioga County. Elizabeth Hartman, born in 1795, died Tioga County, was a daughter of Jacob Hartman and Susanna "Peggy" Cox. It is stated they were married about 1819 and migrated to Tioga County in the early 1820's. - Would like to find information regarding WESTMORELAND COUNTY ANCESTORS--ANDRES (ANDREW) DAUER, B. 1803 in Prussia and wife, AUGUSTA; their son FREDERICK (FRITZ) DAUER, born February 6, 1830 in Prussia and his wife, CAROLINE RAU, born 1839; their daughter AMALEA DAUER , born July 7, 1866 in Westmoreland County, PA and her husband EMORY FREEMAN. Their daughter LOTTIE MARGARET REEGER, born April 20, 1891 in Westmoreland County, died 2/29/60, is my grandmother and she had a brother CHARLES FREEMAN. I believe his descendants may still live in the area, possibly Greensburg or Jeanette. Have no information at all about Emory Freeman. .

- I am trying to fill in as much of my family tree as possible and find that they lived in and around westmoreland county. we have found some information at the polk run church and that some of them were in the verona cemetery. we found that an alexander mccutcheon is in our line. we found alexander mccutcheon mentioned in an article about joseph mccutcheon in a book "the history of allegheny county" page 618..

- I am searching for additional information concerning James Kerr and his wife Rosanna Haney and their offspring who resided in Latrobe, Westmoreland County begining in the mid 1850's. Their oldest daughter Catherine married Joseph Skelly or Skelley about 1856 or 1858. Their oldest son John served in Co. K, 53RD Pa. Vol. Inf. during the Civil War and was killed at Fredericksburg, Va. Dec.1862. His Remains were reported to have been sent home to Latrobe and buried in 1866. Where is he actually buried ? Any information will be helpful. Thank you.

- Seeking info on Leonilda Isnardi, immigated from Milan to US in about 1900. Her father made and sold pasta in Allegheny Co., his given name unknown. She married Joseph Dragone about 1905. Leonilda died in Avella in 1935 or 1936. .
