BASHIOUM..."Sam". Captain. The iron man. A center in every way. Has played in more games than any other man at S.H.T.H.S.
BLASKO, "Joe" Determined to play end...and did. Analytical, student of the game.
BUSH, "Harry"....Learned his football as a senior. Earned a regular assignment at right guard.
BUSH, "Jim"...Punter supreme! Dependable in football , school, living. thinks soccer has the edge on football.
CLUTTER, "Ray".......Affecting athlete. Oh, what a "tackle". First love, however, is basketball.
GRUBICH, "Dan".........Co-captain. Hard fighting guard....serious, silent. The school will miss his brilliant defensive playing.
HARSANYI, "Ted".......Can South Huntingdon ever have a better punter, runner, left half? A daring young man of the Blue and Gold.
MALAGO, "Ed"......Affluent, adventurous, small, but what a lad! First half of our quarterback.
NEAL, "Greasy".......Quarterback the other twin. Dynamic. Possesses a contiguous spirit when football is to be played.
SHOTT, "Johnny".........Diminutive for an end. Appearance...wiry. Chief characteristics...quiet, intelligent.
SOMMERFIELD, "Bill".....Happy...especially when we win. Determined to be a perfect tackle.
STANGRY..."Slats"......A flashy and elusive runner. A brilliant end; just as good in the backfield.
TOMAJKO, "Al"........Fiery and fast. when the opponenets are gaining ground you may be sure it isn't around left end.
VALLA, "Shadow"........A courageous tackle...quiet ...unpretentious. Ambition ...to head the team as a senior.
VALLA, "George".........Cool, stoic, driving. Played in every game. No fullback ever hit a line harder.
VEKKELI, "Vek"........Rugged right half. Idea of the game...fewer plays and more football.
HOFFMAN, Tom the Mgr. Detective, doctor, chiropractor, psychoanalysist. Knew every shoe string or helmet by its name and who had it.
