RENA RUPERT, 83, of Star Route, Spring Church (Girty) died Tuesday, April 20, 1971 at her home. A daughter of Robert and Emma (Shutt) Scott, born Girty, PA April 6, 1888, she was a member of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ in South Bend.

She is survived by three sons: Vernon Rupert of Kittanning, Orald Rupert of Shelocta RD 1, and Wendell Rupert of Girty; seven daughters: Helen Rupert at home, Mrs. Esther Kunkle of Virginia, Mrs. John (Geraldine) Shutt of Apollo, Mrs. Kenneth (Goldyn) Rearick, Elderton, Mrs. Eugene (Vida) Yount of Girty, Mrs. Wayne (Ruth) Wible, Canfield, Ohio, Mrs. Torrance (Wyvonne) Townsend, South Bend, 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her husband, D.A. Rupert, died March 27, 1947. Two grandchildren also preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held in St. Jacob's United Church of Christ in South Bend, Friday afternoon. The Rev. Taylor of Kittanning and her pastor, the Rev. John Kautz officiated. Burial followed in the South Bend Cemetery. Clark Funeral Home in Elderton was in charge of the arrangements.
