Mrs. Albert S. Bright

Mrs. Mary Ellen Bright, 80, wife of Albert S. Bright, Quakertown R.
3, died Wednesday night in Quakertown Community hospital; born in
Tinicum township, Sept. 21, 1868, she was a daughter of the late Isaac
and Emmaline Lehr Eichlin and had been a resident of Bethlehem prior
to locating in Bucks county.
She resided in the late home for the past 16 years, and was a
member of Cathedral church of the Nativity, Bethlehem.
Survivors include the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Randt and
Mrs. John W. Shively, Quakertown, R.D., a son Harold J. Bright,
Bethlehem, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Allen R. Bright
From the Easton Express newspaper, Easton Pa. June 19, 1931
Allen R. Bright 29, of 1121 Orchard Street, for some time a truck
driver for the Lehigh Steam Laundry, died at his home at 7, 30
Thursday night of a complication of ailments. He had recently
undergone an operation for appendicitis, but later had been able to
return to work. He became seriously ill a week ago.
Deceased was a son of Albert and Mary Eichlin Bright, of this city,
and was a member of First Reformed Church and Company B, Sons of Union
Veterans, besides the parents there survive his wife, Priscilla E.
Wagner Bright; three daughters and two sons, Dorothy, Blanche,
Gertrude, Gertrude, Paul and Walter Bright, all at home; two sisters
and a brother, Mrs. Jacob Rand, Mrs. John Shively, and Harold Bright,
all of this city.
The funeral will be held from the late home Tuesday at 1.30 p.m.,
followed by services at 2 o'clock in First Reformed Church. Burial
will be in Fairview cemetery.

Irvin H. Bright
former Tamaqua Fire Chief, Dies suddenly at his home.

Stricken with a sudden heart attack while he was reading a
newspaper at 10 pm., Friday, Irvin H. Bright, 450 E. Broad St.,
Tamaqua, died a few minutes later.
Mr. Bright had been Complaining all day of feeling ill.
A native of Winchester W. Va., he returned home last Monday after
spending the previous month with his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Whiting in
Birmingham, Ala. He was 73 years of age.
Mr. Bright moved to Tamaqua when he was six years old and for a time
was employed as a harness maker at the Hughes shop on Center St. He
later entered the shoe business in a partnership with F.P. Spiese. On
the death of his partner he conducted the business himself until he
retired several years ago. He then worked for several years for the P.
P. & L.Co.
An active member of the citizens fire co., he at one time served as
fire chief in Tamaqua. He was also affiliated with Order of
Independent Americans, Knights of Malta and the odd fellows and was a
member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational church and a director of
the peoples Trust Co. in Tamaqua.
He is survived by his daughter in Alabama and two grandchildren.
A brother and four sisters also survive, William of Bethlehem. Mrs.
Edward Doyle, Mrs. Frank Fredericks, Mrs. Israel J Kiefer, and Mrs.
Jacob Thomas Walters all of Easton.
His wife died two years ago.
Funeral services will be held at his late home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with
Rev. L. L. Hosan, pastor of Bethany church officiating.
Interment will be made in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Harrison Bright

30, 1921.
Harrison Bright a former well known South Eastonian , who until
June, 1919 resided at 835 Berwick Street, died suddenly of apopiaxy,
Monday night at 10.30 o'clock at his home in Los Angeles, Cal.,
according to a telegram received by relatives here yesterday
afternoon. Mr. Bright was born in Virginia on July 23, 1840, and
therefore was 82 years old. For nearly forty years he resided on the
South Side. On August 1, 1883 he entered the employ of the Lehigh
Valley Railroad as a fireman and on August 16, 1888 became an engineer
remaining in active service until May 6, 1912, when he reached the
retirement age of 70 years.
He was twice married, his first wife having died about eight years
ago. Shortly after he removed to Los Angeles he was remarried.
He is survived by his second wife residing at Las Angeles, ten
children; Ervin, Bright, of Tamauqua , William Bright, of Bethlehem,
Mrs. Robert Sinclair of Allentown, Mrs. Thomas Breisch, Mrs. Edward
Doyle, Mrs. Israel Kiefer, Mrs. Charles Brower, Mrs. Perry Woodring,
Mrs. Jacob T. Walter and Mrs. Frank Frederick all of Easton; a brother
John Bright, of Allentown, a half-sister , Mrs. Edward Grove, of
Winchester, Va., and a half-brother, Edward Bright of Reading.
Forty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren, all
survive.
Mr. Bright was a member of the second M. E. Church and of the I.O.O.F.
Lodge of Tamauqua. Burial will take place at Los. Angeles.

Harrison Bright was born in Reading, Pa. Not Va. His parents were
Aaron Bright and his first wife Maria S. Miller.
Oldest son is Irvin H. Bright, (paper has Ervin) first wife was Sarah
Nagle born Mar 13, 1844 and died Aug 21, 1912. She is buried at Hays
Cemetery, South Easton, Northampton County, PA., Section C. so is
Harrison Bright per the grave stone.

Oliver H. Bright

Oliver H. Bright, 1434 West Broad Street, passed away at his home
early Saturday morning at the age of 37 years. He was born in Richland
Township on April 3rd, 1906, a son of J. Elmer and Katie nee Kramer
Bright. For some time he had been employed at the Lehigh Bus Terminal
in Lansdale. He was active in the West End Fire company, Quakertown.
He is survived by his wife Rose nee Kulp; his parents, two daughters,
Shirley Mae and Amanda Lacqueda, both at home.
The following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Hiram Wenhold, of Perkasie,
Mrs. Ray Shelly and Mrs. Henry Hafler of Bethlehem; Helen, Pearl,
Clifford and Allen all of Quakertown, and Erwin of Milford Square.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the
C.R.Strunk funeral home. Rev. H. W. Fitting assisted by Rev. Paul T.
Stoudt will officiate. Interment in the Springfield cemetery at
Pleasant Valley.

Ray Erwin Bright

Ray Erwin Bright, infant son of Erwin and Eva nee Wieand Bright,
passed away Wednesday morning at Milford Square at the age of 7 months
and 23 days.
He was survived by his parents, grandparents and one sister, Ruth at
home.
The funeral will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the late home
with further services in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church,
Quakertown.
Rev. H. W. Fitting will officiate. Interment will be made in
Springfield cemetery.

Newton Bright
| Crushed Under Four-ton Rock, Newton Bright, Bethlehem R.
4 Dies from Injuries. |

Crushed by a falling 4-ton rock in the quarry of the Waubeek
Granite Co. yesterday morning, Newton Bright of Bethlehem R. 4 died
from his injuries at 1:15 p.m. in the Quakertown Community hospital.
He was aged 65 years, 1 month and 10 days.
Mr. Bright was removing ground from the large rock hanging in the bank
of the quarry, situated two miles northeast of Coopersburg along the
state road toward passer and adjoining the rife range of the Saucon
Rod and Gun club, when the rock slipped pinning the lower part of the
man's body beneath it.
He was removed to the hospital by Albert and Timothy Hassler, also
employed at the quarry. Death was caused by internal injuries, a
fractured pelvis and bladder. Dr. H. Clayton Moyer of Blooming Glen,
coroner of Bucks county, issued a certificate of accidental death.
Undertaker Willard L. Gruver, Coopersburg was given charge of the
body.
Mr. Bright's death was the first among the children of the late David
and Lydia, nee Rinker, Bright. His father died Sept. 23, 1936.
Surviving are his wife, Lillie Cora nee Beers, Bright; two children
Florence, wife of Gurney Gumm, Baltimore, Mad., and Ralph Bright ,
Quakertown R. 3, and nine grandchildren. The following brothers and
sisters also survive; Mary, wife of Jacob Weaver, Bingen; Joseph; Zion
Hill; John, Leithsville; Rosa, wife of Joseph Rothrock, Coopersburg;
Tillie, wife of Daniel Sacks, Hosensack; Minnie, wife of Warren Gross,
Centre Valley; Ira, Centre Valley, and Edith Bright, Centre Valley.
Mr. Bright lived for the past 21 years along Bethlehem R. 4 near
Bingen and prior to that time resided on his father's farm in that
section. He attended the Mennonite Bethlehem in Christ church,
Coopersburg, and also the Sunday school.
Rev. F. B. Hertzog, pastor of the church will have charge of the
services at 1:30.

Emmet Trauger
Easton Express, newspaper. Easton Pa. December 2, 1943
Emmet Trauger, husband of Salome (nee Bright) , Trauger, died
yesterday at his home in Springtown at the age of 78 years. He was
born in Tinicum Township May 28, 1865, son of the late William and
Elizabeth Campbell Trauger.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the late
residence, followed by services in the church of the Brethren, Passer,
at 2:15 p.m., the Rev. U. E. Apple officiating. Interment will be in
the cemetery adjoining.

Mary E. Bright
Easton Express, newspaper. Easton Pa. April 18, 1938
Miss Mary E. Bright, 1008 Juniper Street, Quakertown, died after
three months of ill health Saturday morning. She was aged 72 years.
She was born July 18, 1865, in Bethlehem, a daughter of Joseph T. and
Lovina ( nee Emery ) Bright.
For many years she was a resident of Quakertown and at the time of
death had been living at the home of Hiram Bilger. She was a member of
the church of the Bethlehem.
She is survived by a brother Andrew Bright of Philadelphia, and two
sisters, Elizabeth E. Rodevoch, of Stoudit's Valley, and Mrs. Salome
Trauger, of Springtown.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the
Strunk Funeral Home, 821 West Broad Street, Quakertown, with further
services in the church of the Bethlehem, at 2 o'clock. Her pastor the
Rev. J. Herbert Miller, and the Rev. B. B. Ludwick will officiate.
Burial will be in the church of the Bethlehem cemetery.

Joseph E. Bright
| Leithsville Man Struck by Auto; Dies in Hospital . Father of
Six Children Succumbs Several Hours After Accident.

Joseph E. Bright, 63, of Leithsville, died Sunday morning in St.
Luke's hospital from a fractured skull received on Saturday night when
he was struck by an automobile driven by Waze Wilson De Roach, 2407
Hayes St., Easton.
With Charles Dorney of Middletown, Bright was lking towards
Freemansburg on the Freemansburg-Easton road at 8 p.m., Saturday with
their backs toward traffic. Bright was struck by the car which was
going west at the time.
Dorney was in front of Bright and did not see the accident, according
to patrolman T.P. Cahalan of the Bethlehem sub-station of the State
Highway patrol, who investigated the accident.
The right front fender and hinge of the door of the car struck Bright.
He was removed to the hospital in the ambulance and died at 1:21 a.m.
Bright who has been visiting Dorney at his home in Middletown, was
the husband of the late Lily Beck Bright and was born in Bethlehem,
Aug. 31, 1873, a son of the late Joseph T. and Levina Emerich Bright.
For the past 36 years he had been in the employ of the Bethlehem steel
co., and was a member of the P.O.S. of A.
His wife preceded him in death two years ago. Six children survive as
follows: John, Warren and Linford, at home; Mrs. Floyd Transue and
Mrs. Minnie Seifert of Bethlehem; Mrs. Walter Smith, of Coopersburg: a
brother Andrew Bright of Harrisburg: three sisters, Mary of
Quakertown; Mrs. Jacob Rodenbach of Easton; Mrs. Anna Trauger of
Springtown, and 13 grandchildren.
Undertaker Marvin M. Steyers, of Bethlehem, removed the body to the
late home where services will be held Wednesday at 3.30 p.m., followed
by additional services at 2 p.m. in Ebenezer New Reformed church of
Bingen. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. The viewing
will take place on Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Amelia Mauch
| Mrs. Amelia Mauch, 78, Mother of Lawyer, Dies. |

Mrs. Amelia J. Bright Mauch, 78 widow of John Mauch, Died at 11:30
a.m. Monday at the residence, Stony Acres, Hellertown R.1, after an
illness of nine weeks.
She had made her home there with her son and daughter-in-law, Atty.
and Mrs. Russell C. Mauch, for the past nine years.
Born June 5, 1869 in Hellertown, she was the daughter of the late
Charles H. and Elizabeth Wagner Bright. A lifelong member of Christ
Church, she had been a teacher in the infant department of the Sunday
school for hale a century.
In addition to her son a daughter, Mrs. Stanley W. Eisenhart,
Hellertown; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren survive.
Rev. Byron R. Stauffer, pastor of Christ church, will officiate at
funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Templeton home, 326 Main
St., Hellertown. Interment in Union cemetery, Hellertown. Calling
hours 7:15 too 8: 15 p.m. Wednesday. |
Francis Bright

Francis Bright, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home at
Allentown, Friday morning, of complications. Mr. Bright was formerly
employed as an engineer with the Allentown foundry and machine co. He
was born in Reading, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Bright, and was 67
years , 7 months and 12 days of age.
His wife Catherine, nee Evans, survives, together with one son,
William F., three brothers, John of Allentown,Michael of Reading, and
Harrison of Easton and three sisters, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Kellar, and
Mrs. Butz all of Reading.

John Bright
| Veteran Railroader dies of Paralysis. |

John Bright a veteran railroader, died Saturday at 6.35 P.M. in the
Allentown hospital, aged 74 years. Mr. Bright had been admitted to the
hospital five weeks ago following a stroke of paralysis.
Mr. Bright was born in Reading, the son of Aaron Bright, but he lived
in Allentown most of his life having come here about 50 years ago. For
almost that entire period the deceased was employed by the Reading
Railroad company as a passenger conductor on the Allentown-Harrisburg
route. He retired four years ago last March on his seventieth
birthday.
He was a prominent member of the Veteran Employees association of the
Reading company and was affiliated also with the P.O.S. of A. and the
Knights of Malta of this city.
Mr. Bright's wife, Sarah nee Smith, passed away three years prior to
his demise. He is survived by three sons; Frederick A. Bright, of 238
Margaret street, Brookdale near Allentown, with whom he resided,
Wallace J. Bright. of Philadelphia, and Raymond H. Bright, of this
city. Three grandchildren also survive, as does a sister, Mrs. Edwin
Grove, of Winchester, Virginia, and a half-brother, Edward Bright, who
also lives in Virginia.

Milton Bright

Milton Bright died at quarter to 6 o'clock Saturday morning at his
home No. 139 South Sixth Street from an attack of pneumonia. He was
taken ill last Monday night and his condition assumed a serious phase
at once.
Mr Bright was a native of Zion Hill Bucks County, and was a son of
John and Sarah Bright nee Hildebeitel. For 21 years he was in the
general merchandise business at Quakertown. He came to Allentown 20
years ago and since that time was a hay salesman.
Mr. Bright is survived by Henry J. Bright a clerk at the Merlow Hat
store, and three brothers and sisters.
Charles Bright of Hellertown; Frank, Michael and Emma Bright living at
the homestead at Zion Hill, and Mrs. Catherine Beidler, living at
Quakertown.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his
late home. Rev. Simon Sipple officiating. Interment will be made in
Highland cemetery.

What I found in the 1900 and 1910 census is Milton Bright living in
Allentown Pa., with a wife Sallie C. and a son Henry Bright.
Milton is a salesman of hay and Henry is working in a hat store.
The census mach up with this obit.

Michael Bright

Michael Bright an aged resident of Zion Hill died Thursday night at
the Quakertown hospital, were he was receiving treatment for
complications, in his 81 year.
Mr. Bright was born reared and lived all his life at Zion Hill. He was
a son of the late John and Sarah, nee Hildebeitel Bright.
One brother Frank of Zion Hill survives.
Services will be help Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the H. A. Ritter,
Est., funeral home. Interment will be made in Zion Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at Ritter's on Monday from 7 too 9 p.m.

Frank Bright
From the Easton Express newspaper Easton Pa.April 14, 1936.
Frank Bright a prominent farmer of Zion Hill where he was born and
lived all his life in the old family homestead, died Easter Sunday
night in the Quakertown Community hospital. He was eighty-six years of
age.
He had been a patient at the hospital for the past three months. Death
came as the result of a complication of ailments superinduced by his
advanced years. Mr. Bright was the last of his family. He was never
married and his only survivors are several nieces and nephews.
The son of the late John and Sarah Hildebeitle Bright. Mr. Bright was
born in the homestead in Zion Hill and lived there all his life.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at
Treffinger's residence funeral home,24 North Ambler Street,
Quakertown, and interment will be made in the Zion Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday night from 7 too 9
o'clock.

Frank Bright
Frank Bright, 86 years old retired farmer, of Quakertown R.D.
passed away late Sunday night in the Quakertown Community Hospital.
Death was due to heart failure, he had been a patient in the hospital
for the past three months.
The deceased was a member of the Zion Hill Reformed Church and was the
son of John and Hildewell Bright.

Joseph Milton Bright 73, died at 8 a.m. Monday at his home in
Doylestown township, Bucks county, after an illness of eight years.
Born Aug. 31, 1874 in Bethlehem he was a son of the late David and
Lydia Rinker Bright, a retired gardener and formerly resided at Zion
Hill, Bucks County.
Surviving are two sons, Emmanuel J. Easton R. 4; And Raymond N.,
Bethlehem R. 4: a daughter , Mrs. Howard Lerch, Hellertown; 12
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Four sisters, Mrs. Mary Weaver, Bingen; Mrs. Joseph Rothrock,
Limeport; Mrs. Warren Gross and Edith Bright, Center Valley, and two
brothers John Leithsville and Ira Center Valley also remain.

Funeral services for Joseph M. Bright formerly of Zion Hill, who died
Monday, were held yesterday at the Templeton Funeral home, Hellertown.
Rev. Herbert Hartman of the Mennonite Brethren in Christ church,
Coopersburg, officiated.
Burial was in Durham cemetery with the following pallbearers; Forrest,
Robert, Willard, and Wilbur Bright, Robert and Merritt Lerch and
Timothy Rothrock.

Miss Mabel Bright

Miss Mabel Bright , 35 years old who formerly resided with her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Bright at 155 North Main Street, died at
5 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown,
following an operation.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome
Bright of Bethlehem, and a sister, Miss Jennie Bright of Bethlehem.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran church of Bethlehem. The body was
brought to the home of her sister-in-law.

Mrs., Elizabeth Bright , wife of Charles H. Bright, died suddenly
on Sunday from apoplexy, age 73 years. She was born in Lower Saucon
township and is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. John
W. Mauch and Mrs. Harry F. Wirebach both of Hellertown, Pa.
Also by one sister Mrs. Howard Riegel of Hellertown and four brothers,
Wilson and John Wagner, of Lower Saucon; Quintus Wanger of Hellertown
and Benjamin Wagner, of Philadelphia.
Funeral Thursday afternoon with interment in Hellerstown Union
cemetery.

Charles Bright

1921.
Charles Bright one of the oldest citizens of Hellertown, died
Wednesday morning at his late home, 425 Main street Hellertown, Pa.,
of complication of ailments, He was taken ill last Sunday. The
deceased was born at Milford township, Bucks county January 21, 1844.
He was the son of the late John and Sarah Bright, and is survived two
daughters. Mrs. Amella Mauch and Mrs. Mary Wirebach of Hellertown; two
brothers, Michael and Frank Bright, of Zion Hill Pa. two Sisters Mrs.
Emma Bright also of Zion Hill Pa. and Mrs. Lewis Butler, of
Quakertown: five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. For the
past forty years Mr. Bright was proprietor
of the general store at Hellertown. He was a tailor by trade and
followed that profession in with his store work.
The funeral will be held from the residence Saturday. Services at 2
o'clock and interment at the Hellertown Union cemetery.

Mrs. Ida S. ( Beck ) Bright died this morning at the residence in
Leithsville. She was born in Center Valley, Oct. 11, 1877, daughter of
the late Edwin and Anna Gross Beck. She was a member of Ebenezer New
Reformed church, Bingen.
She is survived by her husband John C. Bright; two sons, Willard
Bright, Bingen, Norman S. Wilson, Allentown, two daughters; Mrs. Niles
Klausen, Bethlehem, and Mrs. Miriam Horn at home and a sister Mrs.
Clara Sauerwine, Bethlehem; 12 grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, in the Steyers
Funeral home 500 Linden St. with continued services in Ebenezer New
Reformed church, Bingen.
Rev. Robert Finkenbinder will officiate and burial will take place in
the adjoining cemetery.

John C. Bright, 75, Leithsville, died at 3:15 p.m., yesterday in
the Allentown Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1876, he was a son of the late David and Lydia Rinker
Bright. He was employed by the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England
Railroad until December. He was a member of Ebenezer New Reformed
church Bingen.
Preceded in death by his wife Ida S, Beck Bright, he is survived by
two sons, Norman S. Wilson, Allentown, and Rev. Willard Bright,
Bingen; two daughters, Mrs. Niels Klausen, Bethlehem, and Mrs. Miriam
Horn, Leithsville; one brother, Ira Bright, Center Valley; four
sisters, Mrs. Mary Weaver, Bingen; Mrs. Rosa Rothrock Zionsville, and
Mrs. Minnie Gross and Miss Edith Bright, both of Center Valley; 12
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday in Steyers Funeral
home, 500 Linden St. with continued service in Ebenezer New Reformed
church Bingen. The Rev. Robert Finkbeiner will officiate, assisted by
the Rev. H. W. Hartman of Allentown. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.

Rollin Bright

October 31, 1907
The Funeral of Rollin, a five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John
Bright, of Leithsville, who died on Friday afternoon from burns
received last week while playing about the kitchen fire at his home,
was held on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Weidner, of
Allentown, conducted services in Ebenezer church, Bingen. Interment
was made in the cemetery adjoining.
